Our History
The local church was founded and built in 1983 by the late Elder Harry Brown who obeyed the voice of God to "build his heavenly Father a church."

Elder Brown was a man who was totally yielded to the will of God. In 1980, during a prayer service God gave Elder Brown a vision. It was in this vision that the Lord spoke to Elder Brown and instructed him to begin a church. After obtaining permission from Elder Spencer, Elder and Mother Brown began a church in their residence in Fairfield, Virginia. Later the small congregation began holding services at the AME Church in Steeles Tavern, Virginia. From the very first service held, the Lord visited each service with His Holy presence.
Elder Brown and the small congregation built a debt-free church. It was 1983 that they completed the church and they began having weekly services in their new location.
Elder and Missionary Brown along with their family and the congregation of Faith Mission worked tirelessly to serve the Lord and to reach out to people of all ages, walks of life and races in an effort share the Good News of Jesus.
Following a lengthy illness, Elder Brown completed his journey and mission on earth and went to receive his crown in glory in August 2008. It was Mother Marie Brown’s desire to continue the work that her husband started in this community and to always have an “open door” for the community to come and worship Christ.
At that time Superintendent Ronald Watson appointed Elder Terry Phillips to serve as the pastor of this congregation.
Sent to this mission with the support of his pastor, mentor and superintendent and home church, Elder and Missionary Phillips went to work to continue the work that the Lord ordained in the Fairfield community and to bring to pass the vision that was given to their predecessors.
The ministry provides assistance to those in need through establishment a clothing bank and resource center.
The local church continues to grow and excel under the leadership of Elder Terry Phillips, Pastor and Dr. Ronald A. Watson, Sr., District Superintendent of the Covington District Churches of God in Christ, 2nd Jurisdiction of State of Virginia.
We exist to win, train and support followers of Jesus Christ. As followers of Christ we will study the Word of God and apply it for spiritual growth as we journey to fulfill our purpose and destiny.
We are a body of believers who live and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others through our everyday lifestyles and fellowships.
Our overall mission is to reach out individuals and families, build God a house of believers, who are in turn enriched and enabled to lead world-changing lives and share the love of God with everyone they meet.
We've been called and appointed for this time:
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because He has anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; to bind up the brokenhearted; to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations."
-Isaiah 61:1-4
